The drawing is finished and the layout is set for At Grandpa’s Pond. This 10 month BOM will begin January 5, 2014. The approximately 40″ x 45″ quilt depicts some of the activity at a small backyard pond.
2013 Quilt Expo – Madison Wisconsin
Quilt Expo is September 5, 6, and 7, 2013 at the Alliant Energy Center in beautiful Madison, Wisconsin. Quilt Expo is a joint venture of Wisconsin Public Television and Nancy Zieman Productions, LLC.
This year I will be teaching three 1 hour lectures.
Thursday, Sept. 5, at 1 p.m. - Copyright and The Quilter - The discussion will include basic copyright laws and how they apply to the patterns we buy and the patterns we have designed. We will talk about the differences between copyright, license and trademark.
Friday, Sept. 6, at 1 p. m. - Straight Path to the Stars - This trunk show/lecture will show how to make a Drunkard’s Path block using only straight seams. The stars in the quilt are made with a paperless paper piecing technique. There is no paper to tear away and the patterns can be used many times.
Saturday, Sept 7, at 1p.m. – Electric Quilt - Electric Quilt version EQ6 or EQ7 will work with this power point lecture. If you have EQ installed on your laptop you will be able to follow along as I show you quilt layout, block selection and fabric selection. You will learn how to print your quilt, print a single block, print patterns and yardages. We will explore the libraries and look at the drawing features on EQ. If you do not have EQ this lecture will help you decide if EQ is a new direction you want to take in your quilting journey.
